It's that time of year again! Some of you may remember the "1-2-3" promotion I ran last year throughout the month of May to celebrate Dakiti's second birthday. Here we are in 2017 and it's already almost May again (crazy how that happens, right?). That means it's also time for sales again!
I like to think of this as not only the anniversary of my first book, but also the anniversary of me taking that leap into the publishing scene and never looking back. I honestly can't imagine what things would be like if I hadn't decided to do that. I'd still be writing, I'm sure, but I wouldn't have met all the people I've met, made the new friends I've made, or read most of the books I've read. This might sound tacky and cliched, but this has all literally changed my life, and I'm so glad I took that first step. I've learned so much, not just about writing but also about social media, web content, networking, and analytics, all of which can be applied to everyday life. It's been an incredible journey, and I've had a ton of fun along the way.
I seriously can't believe it's already been three years.
Anyway, I digress. The 1-2-3 Deal is a month-long promotion I'll be running throughout the month of May, and as the horribly-uncreative title suggests, it's made up of three stages:
STAGE 1
Beginning May 1, Dakiti will be $0.99 for Kindle through the end of the month.
STAGE 3
On May 29 only — aka THE anniversary — all three books will be available for FREE.
What's next?
- Stay tuned for social media posts with fun graphics at the beginning of each stage. If you don't already, follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads.
- If you haven't read the books, you can check out an excerpt from each one on their respective pages here on the site ( Dakiti • Nexus • Ronan )
- If you have read the books but haven't left a review, now would be a really awesome time to do it. Dakiti in particular is really close to getting 50 reviews on Amazon, and at that point, the site can start giving it a little more exposure. Reviews are SO important for any author, but especially for indies like me. We can do all the promotion and marketing we want, but word of mouth is still the most effective tool. Leave your reviews on Amazon and Goodreads today, or if you're someone who always reviews on GR, don't forget to cross-post to Amazon. That's where the buyers see it.
- I would absolutely love it if people helped me spread the word about this sale. Sharing and networking was a huge factor in this promo's success last year. It's always a lot of fun when just a couple of people share or retweet something but it causes a chain reaction and you watch this ripple effect spread across the internet.
